MEINL percussion announces the addition of a new set of timbales to their extensive range of percussion instruments.
The Roland Meinl Professional Series Timbales are made from finest German B8 cymbal bronze and come in 14” and 15” sizes. They feature two worked in flanges, a “Cuban style” flared out bottom edge, and brackets cast from a special brass alloy. Included is a height adjustable stand, a cowbell holder, an L-shaped tuning key and Tune Up Oil. They produce a fantastic warm sound with cutting rim shots and enhanced cascara playing.
New Artist Signings
MEINL Percussion would like to welcome Justin Poree and Jiro Yamaguchi to its family of percussion artists. Justin and Jiro play percussion for the popular U.S. / California band, Ozomatli. Anyone who has witnessed a live Ozomatli show can testify to the multitude of good vibes that the band conveys to their audience. Ozomatli effortlessly blend an amazing array of genres of music, ranging from all styles of latin, to rock, to hip hop, to reggae and makes you feel as if you had your feet in the sand and the sun shining down upon you. Currently Justin, Jiro and the rest of Ozomatli are set to release their new album, "Street Signs," on June 22 on Concord Records. Be sure to catch them live on tour in your town!
