Luis Conte Artist Series Timbales
Perfection in even the smallest detail is realized in this superlative instrument.
All of the specifications Luis Conte required for his instrument have been
consequently realized with this Signature Timbale of Meinlīs Artist Series.
Meinl has spared no energy to satisfy Luisīs and Meinlīs combined vision of the
perfect instrument.
The foundation for these timbales is a massive shell in
14" and 15" diameters made from either solid brass or stainless steel.
By extensively hand hammering the shells, the typically "dry" cascara
sound is achieved. Two flanges are worked into the shell to increase stability and a
"Cuban style" flared out bottom edge is included to increase projection.
All tension brackets are cast from a special brass alloy. Other fine details include smaller
brackets on the cascara side of the shell and internal support plates for increased stability.
Tuning lugs are mounted below the level of the edge of the hoop to allow perfect rimshot playing .
A perfectly designed bearing edge guarantees increased projection from the extra thin batter heads.
Also included is an adjustable and knurled cowbell holder which easily holds several bells.
Each set of Luis Conte Timbales includes an adjustable, double-braced stand, an original
Realplayer Steelbell, and a square- and a massive L-shaped tuning key.
